Joram Piatigorsky

Joram Piatigorsky is currently working on a collection of short stories and a book on Inuit art.

Joram Piatigorsky is an author, art collector, and scientist emeritus. His extensive collection of Inuit sculptures and other works of art is one of his passions. As a researcher at NIH, he penned more than 300 scientific articles, including those on jellyfish eyes, a book on evolution (Gene Sharing and Evolution; Harvard University Press; 2007), trained a generation of scientists in eye research, lectured worldwide and garnered many science awards. Since retiring from research he focuses on writing fiction, personal essays and short stories. His first novel, Jellyfish Have Eyes (IPBooks; 2014) delves into the conflicts of art and science as well as the narrative, speculative nature of science.
